My final three Christmas cards

All designs by Sue Wilson

Friday 18 December 2015

another xmas trio

Three more design from Sue Wilson

The last one is one of the first I made back in July I think!  Again the shaving foam background, covered in micro beads.

Thursday 17 December 2015

christmas cards continue

three more of the charity cards I made earlier this year
[I started in july!]

I'm pretty sure they are all designed by Sue Wilson, but sometimes I tweak them from the original design.  I know the central one is my own take on the foliage in blue.

christmas wishes and more

Three more cards from my the load I donated to my charity this year.

The top one is a design by Phill Martin  --  I bought his xmas stamp set and thought I should use them!

The other two are by Sue Wilson

more christmas ...

Three more cards today
All of these were designed by Sue Wilson

Monday 14 December 2015

3 christmas cards

I have a lot of Christmas cards to show

The top one in red and gold is a John Lockwood design

The middle one is one of Sue Wilson's using the 'shaving foam' technique for the background.

The last one is also by Sue which I kept very simple

I'm still here!

I know i have not posted anything for a while but I have still been making cards!
I had a long period of just making Christmas cards which i am glad to see the end of!
They have all been donated to my charity and sold within days so I am very pleased.
My huge appreciation as always to Sue Wilson for her stunning designs.
I also used a few of John Lockwood's designs too.

Here is a couple of them for today

just because

A lovely stamped image in this Sue Wilson card.

I stamped and coloured it twice and cut the main flowers out to layer for dimension

More beautiful dies by Sue on pre-order release for September.

Wednesday 2 September 2015

you're wonderful

I have been AWOL for a short while again, sorry.

Just one of those things when i just lost my mojo.

Anyway as always Sue Wilson provides the inspiration and i have made a few cards recently.

This is aqua and white and a lot of sparkle.

Monday 3 August 2015

happy birthday

I am sure showing a card made using a design by John Lockwood
using Sue's dies

I hope he will not mind too much if i borrow more of his exquisite designs!

Saturday 1 August 2015

very special day

My favourite style of designs from Sue Wilson here.

Tone on tone, clean, elegant.

This is done in milk and blush card.  I love everything about it.

***

It has been Pride day here in Brighton but I haven't left the house!!  I don't handle huge crowds very well so I  just stayed in and worked on some more cards. Xmas included!

Friday 31 July 2015

thanks

milk and gold card for this Sue Wilson design.

Sue's striplet dies are so versatile.

Like millions of others I am using and loving the new Windows 10 on my computer,
but as yet Edge does not like to publish blogs so back to Chrome for that until it gets sorted!

Thursday 30 July 2015

treasured friend

I have been busy making Christmas cards recently and only managed a few 'usual' cards.

The charity I make for has had a big buyer again recently so I need to make them some more!

This card is a lovely sparkly Sue Wilson design, in one of her signature 'buckle' cards.

Saturday 4 July 2015

thanks

Another of Sue Wilson's more recent shares, using the weaving die in yet another way.

I used antique silver card with the pumice coloured card for a change to white.  It gives a softer look and imo goes well with silver.

Possibly a good card for a male recipient.

Wednesday 1 July 2015

thank you

When i saw Sue Wilson's original of this card I was a little daunted, but when i made this I was surprised that it wasn't too difficult!   Just a lot of lovely decoration.

I got the sentiment stamp as an individual at Ally Pally.
Not having any string pearls in cream i used some distress glitter in linen on the edge of the sentiment, and used some gold paper for the flowers which i found easier to manipulate.

Monday 29 June 2015

just a note

In Sue Wilson's original of this she used a different sentiment but it would be too large for my version so i used this one.

i don't have any silver texture paste so i mixed some gunmetal with polar white.

The thin ribbon is tinted grey with the new grey distress ink.

Sunday 28 June 2015

thanks

A simple Sue Wilson card using gloss black for a nice change and a matching stamp that i coloured using distress markers.

Saturday 27 June 2015

you're so special

There is a video on Sue Wilson's page that shows this card and how to do the letterpress background.

Thursday 25 June 2015

you're special to me

A little splicing through the center and you have a new shape!!

Sue Wilson showed how to achieve this very simply.
Even the central shape around the sentiment is a cut-down die cut.

Wednesday 24 June 2015

happy birthday

A recent Sue Wilson video for this technique of a 'stained glass window effect.

The glitter does not photograph well but looks really nice true life.

Sunday 21 June 2015

thinking of you

A card that Sue Wilson has a video tutorial for.

It has come out a bit blue here but it is done in milk card with gold embossing powder.

I followed a tip for the weaving dies by using pins and pinning each strip on my piercing mat as I progressed.  The outcome is much easier!

Wednesday 17 June 2015

just for you

First time I have tried Sue's 'caught in crystal' technique and I love it!!

Sunday 14 June 2015

best wishes

I am not too sure whether this is one of Sue Wilson's designs or if it is by Julia Watts.

I lightly inked a piece of decorative paper with distress ink then covered it in micro beads.
I used the same ink lightly over the die cut frame for a slight distressed look.
I made the sugared 'rose' with a heartfelt creations flower die.

Saturday 13 June 2015

just a note

The directions that Sue Wilson gave for this card were using clear lacquer over the black frame to add a shine -- I have just used gloss black card.

Very striking in black and white, but I have been asked to make one or two sympathy type cards and I did think this one would be suitable also.

Friday 12 June 2015

trailing ivy

This Sue Wilson design uses the lovely ivy cut from card coloured with a few different green shades of distress ink, then highlighting the 'veins' by stencilling dark ink through the cut die.  I covered the leaves in some clear lacquer.

Thursday 11 June 2015

you're wonderful

Today's Sue Wilson card is very blingy!!

I used a different diagonal die on my version because I don't have the heart one that Sue uses, but it works in its own way!

Wednesday 10 June 2015

a treasured friend

I used peach coloured card for my version of this Sue Wilson design.

I believe she showed it on her last tv appearance.

The stamped image was coloured with distress markers but I blinged it a little with come wink of stellar pens..  I think John Lockwood designed this lovely stamp.

Monday 8 June 2015

just for you

this wonderful Sue Wilson design is my reproduction using her last die and stamp release.

I havn't used a stamped design for a while.
 It's lovely colouring-in sometimes!

Sunday 7 June 2015

for you

I love how Sue Wilson designs lovely cards like this.
They look complicated but are quite simple really.

The new corner accents make an appearance here.

Saturday 6 June 2015

peace is a journey

My card today is also from Sue Wilson's recent spring release.

The sentiment is from a Justrite set.

I am trying to produce as many cards as I can because my charity's shop keeps selling out!!  I have been told people are coming in asking for them now!! :)

Monday 1 June 2015

Warm thoughts

Another of Sue Wilson's preview releases using the gorgeous new line of 'configurations' dies.  These are smaller accent dies which create lovely shapes and designs when cut multiple times as in this example.
I used lilac and white for my card.

Saturday 30 May 2015

on your special day

Another card based on Sue Wilson's previews
for her latest Spring Collection.

I used a white felt flower I made with the new Foldover Flowers die, which I tinted with peri Adirondack ink.
The background die is reduced in length by cutting it in half, then disguising the join with pearls.

Sunday 24 May 2015

just for you

Sue Wilson has a video demo of this card on her blog

I havn't done gold and black for a while.  This effect is just black card with gilding wax over it.
The background is made using mica flakes.

Wednesday 20 May 2015

just a note

Another of Sue Wilson's Spring releases

I used a dark pink card from my stash.
The embossed section was covered in a double sided sticky sheet before embossing and then diamond sprinkles added.

I wanted the sentiment to be prominent so I glued about 4 cut layers together for depth.
