mothers day

i spent some time this weekend making a couple of mothers day cards for some friends

the first has flowers cut from pepsi cans [!!] using the embossing powder technique i learned from tammy tutterow's blogs.  i love making these flowers!!  i made them a couple of weeks back and have kept them for a card like this.
the ornate plate is tinted with juniper and copper dabbers, and 'mum' cut from the typeset strip die, covered in sepia glossy accents.

the background is mount board cut from the valise die coloured with dusty concord and milled lavender, then the large background stamp from the papillon set embossed in white.  i then ran the piece through a script embossing folder. [cuttlebug]
it is then matted onto some decorative card i have in stash.

here is a close up of the flowers

the second card is almost the same but the flowers are made from tim's brand new mini tattered floral strip die!!
the background is coloured with tumbled glass and broken china.
i cut the flowers from whitewash coredinations, and coloured with various distress pads.

  6. Wonderful cards Tony. Those flowers are spectacular. Love the colours & the sheen you get from them. The mother's who receive these will adore them. And once again, you shame me with your die usage. I've had the tattered floral strip for a week nearly and it still sits on my desk, having not cut one strip of card :( I'll have to pull my finger out. Pxx
